The launch date of the Vivo X80 series in India is May 18 and the lineup will succeed the Vivo X70 series. The flagships made their world debut earlier this month and brought some major improvements in terms of specifications. While the vanilla Vivo X80 will be positioned at the top of the mid-range segment, the Vivo X80 Pro will be a premium flagship as it comes with QHD+ E5 10-bit AMOLED LTPO Display screen, quad-camera setup with 50MP resolution and gimbal stabilization technology. It remains to be seen if the Indian model will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset or the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC.

On the other hand, the Vivo X80 will come with an FHD+ display, MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, 50MP triple camera sensors, Android 12 operating system and support for 80W fast charging. Ahead of the launch, here’s a quick summary of everything we know about the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro.

Vivo X80 Series Release Date in India

Vivo X80 and X80 Pro India launch date is May 18 at 12 noon IST. The company will be broadcasting the event live on its official YouTube channel.

Vivo X80 Series Design

Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro share a similar design. Both come with a punch hole in the center for selfies and slim bezels. Vivo X80 Pro has slightly curved edges. The volume rocker and power button are located on the right edge. The speaker grille, primary microphone, and USB Type-C port are located on the bottom.

On the back, the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro have a large rectangular housing to accommodate up to a quad-camera layout in a circular module and LED flashes. The back panel is slightly curved on the X80 Pro. The phones have Vivo and Zeiss text engraved too. The phones come in Cosmic Black and Urban blue color options.

Price of Vivo X80 and X80 Pro

Vivo X80 and X80 Pro prices in India are expected to be in the flagship range. While the former is expected to be less than 50,000 rupees, the latter may be just over 60,000 rupees. We should know the exact prices when they launch next week.

The flagship is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor paired with a 10-core Mali-G710 GPU. It has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage and starts Android 12 with a custom Funtouch 12 skin out of the box.

The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing. It measures 164.95 x 75.23 x 8.30mm and weighs 206g.

The Vivo X80 has a triple camera setup on the back, including a 50MP Sony IMX866 primary sensor with OIS support, f/1.75 aperture, LED flash, a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP 50mm telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support. It has a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The rear camera module features Zeiss T* coating, ZEISS optics and a V1+ chip.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor paired with an Adreno GPU for graphics. The phone packs 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Android 12 with a custom skin Funtouch 12 out of the box.

For the cameras, the Vivo X80 Pro has a quad-camera setup on the back, including a 50MP Samsung GNV sensor with f/1.57 aperture, OIS, a 48MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 12MP 50mm 2X photo shooter with aperture f/1.85, gimbal stabilization, and 8MP periscope lens with 5x optical and 60x digital zoom support. The 32MP camera on the front takes care of your selfie needs.

There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, USB Type-C audio, CS43131 Hi-Fi AMP, and stereo speakers.
