Romania – Finland, LIVE TEXT, 21:45, in the League of Nations. Probable teams
Romania: Niță – Rațiu, Chiricheș, Burcă, Bancu – Olaru, Marius Marin, Cicâldău – Sorescu, Pușcaș, Octavian Popescu
Coach: Edi Iordănescu
Finland: Hradecky – Alho, L. Vaisanen, Ivanov, O’Shaughnessy, Uronen – Lod, Schuller, Kamara – Pukki, Pohjanpalo.
Coach: Markku Kanerva
Edi Iordănescu (43 years old) recorded three defeats and a draw in his first four games at the helm of the “tricolors” and the first voices challenging him have already appeared.
However, FRF, through the voice of the technical director Mihai Stoichiță, claims that the Federation did not draw a conclusion regarding the national team after the first two games and is waiting for the end of the action in June to do so.
”I don’t think an explanation can be found so quickly. I will analyze after all four matches are over. I’m not venturing out because a lot of people might contradict me tomorrow.
They were extremely objective people in the analysis of the games that were, of the players that participated“, Said Mihai Stoichiță, in an interview given exclusively to Digi Sport journalist Marian Codirlă.
”These two games are decisive (No- with Finland and Montenegro) for Edi Iordănescu?“Stoichiță was asked, and the answer came promptly:”No, they are not decisive. No way. I don’t think it’s appropriate to think about the contract. The contract is guaranteed.
In recent years I have changed I don’t know how many selectors, even very good ones. We have to be extremely careful (no- hinted that players are more to blame for the current situation than the selector). That’s why I say, let the four matches pass and the objective reality should come to the surface“, Concluded the FRF official.
When installed on the technical bench of Romania, Edi Iordănescu admitted that he has an intermediate objective in the contract: ranking on the first two places in the League of Nations group. If the “tricolors” occupy the third position, there will be a meeting in which the pluses and minuses brought by the selector during this period will be analyzed, and the last place would most likely mean dismissal.
