A few weeks ago we told you about the most valued and desired vinyl by music lovers collectors. And at the end of that list, we include four national albums after talking about the international ones. Logically, that lit the fuse and the bosses at Esquire suggested I make another list with 10 Spanish albums on vinyl. Of course, I went back to my good friend Jorge, from Chain of Fools (of course, if you’re a vinyl collector, you have to visit his store on Instagram, yes or yes), and he has prepared us a delicious list with 10 of the Lps Spanish most coveted and valued by vinyl hunters. Be careful, we have only included Lps, because on another occasion we will deal with the single market, where amounts of three and four figures are paid.

Without further ado, here are ten true gems in the history of our music whose vinyl editions are among the most valued and desired.

1

Los Brincos: World, Demon and Flesh (Novola NLX 1019 S)

The psychedelic disc of Brincos. Fernando Arbex, the undisputed leader at this stage, went to London to record Los Brincos’ fourth album, with Augusto Algueró and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Also published with title in English (World,Devil,Body). Arbex had a great international nose, as we will see later. In perfect condition it can reach 150 euros, although it is quite difficult to find copies in that condition.

José and Manuel – Genesis (Hispavox HH 11- 197)

Fantastic pop duo formed by two brothers from Malaga (although settled in Madrid). Both their first album, Genesislike the later Soon it will dawn, are quality national pop jewels. Delicious vocal harmonies and instrumentation under the production and arrangements of Rafael Trabucchelli, in Hispavox. A mythical album, as much as Solera along with José María Guzmán and Rodrigo García. Without a doubt, a jewel of our Spanish pop that is not remembered as it deserves. From 40 to 100 euros.

Loquillo – Times are changing (Cusp D 6001)

8

Alfonso Carlos Santisteban – Bossa 68 (LP Tune-41200)

In the absence of French (Montparnasse 2000) or English (KPM, Music De Wolfe) style music bookstore stamps, in our country people like Santisteban, Juan Luis Calderón and his Music Workshop, Augusto Algueró, Waldo de los Ríos) contributed with their arrangements of jazz or classical inspiration to the lack of labels dedicated to this genre (bought by televisions and radios for bumpers, series, documentaries, etc). Santisteban’s jewel is irresistible, with that mixture of jazz and bossa so in vogue at the end of the 60s. From 150 to 300 euros.
