The Golden State Warriors won away, 107-97, and restored balance in the NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics, 2-2. For match 5, we return to San Francisco on Tuesday, at 04:00, live at Orange Sport 1.

GSW received good news before the match: Curry can play, although his left knee had been seriously put to the test by Al Horford. However, Steve Kerr chose to change his strategy. Looney goes on the bench and starts Otto Porter Jr., another shooter next to Curry, Thompson and Wiggins.

This is not the first time he has chosen to change the starting formula when GSW is led in a final. He did it in 2015, at 1-2 with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He passed Bogut on the bench and bet on Iguodala. Winning move, because he won in the next 3 matches and got his first title as coach.

And Golden State seemed to want to suffocate Boston in the first few minutes. They moved quickly in the opposite half, but nothing connected. Three minutes without a basket, 5 misses from 3 points, where Porter’s presence should have been felt best.

However, Boston has shown that it has difficulty staying steady in this final. Although he dominates in all chapters after 3 matches, he still makes the mistake of putting his opponent in the match. Golden State does not miss forever! And there are 5 baskets from a distance with 8 quick points brought by Wiggins, 23-18. Meanwhile, Draymond has already amassed two personal fouls.

Robert Williams, everywhere in the first quarter, 5 points, 5 rebounds that bring another 7 points and a “cap”, and Boston led after the first quarter, 28-27.

Jordan Poole saves a missed 2nd quarter start and comes with two baskets from a distance in just 20 seconds. My Udoka immediately asks for time-out! Brown enters, who also answers with 6 points. Poole slipped two more points, and Curry re-entered the field with Golden State in the lead, 35-34.

Boston beats Golden State in its own game: 8 successful throws of 3 points out of 14 tried! On the other side are only 7 out of 24! Aggression is missing, Draymond is missing. Horror matches played at TD Garden, where he was the main target of the fans. Boston took the lead at the break, 54-49.

2 pointsDraymond Green had 7 rebounds and 5 assists in Game 3 and in the first half of Game 4

Curry Vs. Celtics

Curry carried his colleagues behind him as he left the booths. 14 vital points that keep Golden State in the game. Boston resists defensively, but has many moments when it can’t move the table. Luckily Steph has to do almost everything himself and the difference before the last 12 minutes is minimal, 79-78 for Golden State.

4 consecutive matchesCurry has at least 5 3-point baskets, most in a final

The Celtics authoritatively dominated the fourth quarter of the final: 40 points more than the Warriors! Kerr rests Curry for the first few minutes. White and Tatum hit from a distance, but Thompson responded immediately and gave way to Steph, 84-86.

Boston disappeared on the offensive

After 3 consecutive baskets of Brown, with 7 and a half minutes left on the clock, Kerr chooses to take a risk and takes Green out, it goes to Looney’s hand. The same Brown wastes two throws, and Golden State returns to the lead after two excellent phases managed by Curry, 97-94. Boston gathers almost FOUR MINUTES without a basket!

Draymond comes back for the last 3 minutes and offers two decisive passes for Curry and Looney. Horford stops Boston’s drought, but at the last minute he finds Golden State in the lead, 102-97. Boston only manages to get Curry to practice his free throws. 107-97, nervously, Tatum throws the ball to the floor and goes to the locker room.

Golden State and Boston won each time after a 6-0 and 7-0 defeat in this playoff. Whoever breaks the series wins the trophy!

43 pointsCurry scored in Game 4. At 34 years and 88 days, he is the third oldest player to tick this performance, after LeBron James (35 years and 284 days) and Michael Jordan (35 years and 117 days )

Historical trio

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green ticked off their 19th victory together in the NBA Finals. They matched the record held by Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. The three of them won 4 titles together in 5 finals with the San Antonio Spurs, between 2003 and 2014. Duncan has another title won in 1999, before the arrival of his colleagues.

Golden State stars are in the sixth final, winning 3 trophies together.

I’m proud of this group. We’ve been talking for the last 48 hours about how we can win here and get back into the finals. I found the solution only in the 4th quarter. I think we can play a little better, but it’s a great victory, we regained the advantage of our own field. Draymond knows he can play better. He managed to overcome the weak game in the first half. We do everything together, there’s nothing individual here and it’s not just the statistics that matter.

– Steph Curry, point guard Golden State Warriors

There are many things we would have done differently. I stagnated in the 4th quarter on the offensive side. But it’s a new fight, the best of 3. We have to rest because tomorrow is going to be a damn long flight.

– Jayson Tatum, small forward Boston Celtics
