The tour that started Guatemala in March 2022 will continue to tour the entire continent during this year and will end on December 31 in San Juan Puerto Rico.
‘The last mission’ by Wisin y Yandel
In 1998, the then young and dreamy Wisin & Yandel participated together in the album no fear 3and later on the disk “The Mission Vol. 1” who gave the link with the name of their last show together entitled “The Last Mission”which is the name not only of their farewell but also of the group’s tenth and last studio album.
Born at a time when music began to change airs, and where programs like yingo either “Eve’s Diary” marked the television guideline for local youth, those first appearances in the world of music were the prelude to the first album by Wisin and Yandel, “The Kings of the New Millennium”years that were also the prelude to a career spanning almost a quarter of a century for “The duo of history” who, these days, are saying goodbye to their worldwide audience.
With a sober but powerful staging, where lights, video and a fantastic use of pyrotechnic elements play a fundamental role, Wisin and Yandel They put 25 songs on stage -which are a summary of their years of work- in which the relationship and dialogue with the public was fundamental.
This is how ‘The Last Mission’ was lived in Chile: The Wisin y Yandel show
A varied and massive audience came to the Movistar Arena for the first of the three nights that the duo have prepared to say goodbye since Santiago de Chile.
A stage where the lights and the video are an interesting and very well thought-out complement that gives all the prominence to Wisin and Yandel who start on time with their presentation throwing on the track “Is now” launched in 2008 and is by far one of their most famous themes. And then they reiterate a powerful start with “Look at her well”, another classic that we met on the record “For the World” 2005, and then the public goes crazy and perrea as in the first golden years of reggaeton.
To make it clear that they have a repertoire that is in the disco DNA of the last two decades, they immediately release the chords of “In the dancing disco” and the sandungueo is present in the show, the one that Wisin called a “latin party” and took the opportunity to greet the Venezuelan community that was present in large numbers for the first night, thus showing that, just as the sounds of reggaeton permeated Chilean music for more than 20 years with cultural elements from Central America, today the Migration has turned massive events into a chorus of communities that come together to celebrate and dance under a single common banner, music.
They continue with a measured and harmonic version of “Like before”a song released as part of the solo work of Yandel in 2017, which at the time had the collaboration of Wisin and that at this point is part of their history together.
Then followed the well-known repertoire that took them to the Olympus of urban music and made the public enjoy the rhythm with songs from different eras in the history of Wisin y Yandel with “Reggaeton in the dark” of 2018, “Pam Pam” of 2006, followed by “stick” which was released in 2010 and “abuser” of your disk “Otherwise” (2002), and thus the coliseum of the O’Higgins Park it became a mix of emotions and memories for an audience of all ages who danced and sang furiously to each of the songs.
At that point of the night one might think that enough was enough because both the show and the songs had everyone with joy to the ceiling, however we had only just reached the halfway point of the show that continued adding hits to the generous anthology that Wisin and Yandel they did with “The last mission”.
With Wisin asking for one “Noise” and celebrating the massive presence of the public, which filled the capacity of 10,000 people, at the same time as recognizing the enormous migrant community in Chile who arrived at the venue, the show went ahead with “Sexy Move”, “hypnotize me” and a version of “Wet kisses” which ended with the duo singing a cappella along with the audience.
At that point, the show was heading towards its final part, and with a constant dialogue with the public, Wisin and Yandel entertained those present with a string of hits such as “I’m in love” Y “I feel you”and the famous “Night of sex” of 2005 that also had in its original version with the participation of the “poetry boy” Romeo Santos.
To close a brilliant night with hints of memories and farewells, they performed “Howling” (another hit with Romeo Santos, but from 2018) and then they reviewed another of their famous collaborations, but with daddy yankeeHow is it “If you knew”of 2020, which also Wisin he sang wrapped in a Chilean flag thrown at him from the audience.
Before finishing they took a look at their oldest songs and saying “here we are going to see if they are fans a long time ago or a short time ago” the history duo released the 2005 theme “Do not leave me alone” followed by “The phone” (2006), “I called to see you” Y “Older than me”both from 2005.

With an ending that could not have been better, they put the farewell to the maximum of dancing with “burial night” (2006), “Allow me” (2008), “You are tempting me” (2008) and, of course, the most famous of his productions: “Rakata” also from 2005.
Then between applause, fireworks and confetti they sang “Something I like about you” of 2012, and thus they ended a concert that, as I already said, was generous in well-known songs and in dialogue with the public.
A show that also had the skill of being a very careful show, well put together and that sounded perfectly good since, without excesses and without great fanfare, it brought Santiago de Chile a complete journey through the history of the group, leaving happy and content those who came to say, after 24 years of career, “bye, thank you and see you always” to Wisin and Yandel.
